Since 2023 Edios Media has had the privilege of partnering with The Climate Pledge. Over the past two years we have created multiple courses and case studies with the goal of teaching Climate Pledge signatories how to achieve their commitments of decarbonization, disclosure, and net-zero emissions by 2040. This includes topics like a deep dive into measuring and reporting emissions, building a climate strategy, procuring clean energy, engaging employees in a business’s sustainability journey, and more.
The Climate Pledge is a commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. It brings the world’s top companies together to accelerate joint action, cross-sector collaboration, and responsible change. Signatories of the pledge agree to:
- Measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis
- Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Climate Agreement through business change and innovation
- Neutralize any remaining emissions with socially beneficial offsets
Edios Media has decided to embrace these challenges, and is also committing to reaching net-zero by 2040. As such, we are proud to release our first Emissions Report for 2024. We would like to thank the SME Climate Hub for providing useful tools and carbon calculators which helped us create this report. These tools also provide insight into changes we need to make as a company to ensure more accurate measuring and reporting in the future.

What We Learned
Measuring and reporting your emissions can feel daunting at first. We decided to jump in, on the premise that “done is better than perfect.” This 2024 report provides us with a baseline so that we can continue to improve our business practices and purchasing decisions moving forward.
As a services business with a small group of employees working from home, the bulk of our emissions come from business travel and purchased goods/services. But, while we detail costs from air travel and hotel stays, we have grouped other travel (including bus, trains, taxis, etc.) together. We itemize costs for software, legal services, and insurance, but we have grouped supplies into a catchall, rather than breaking it down by material type (paper, textiles, plastic, etc.)
Starting in 2025, we have adjusted our accounting processes so that we are tracking these costs in more detail. This means that our future reports will be a more accurate representation of our emissions, and will allow us to make more informed decisions on purchasing goods and services.
Moving Forward
We commit to reaching net-zero carbon emissions and will be exploring ways to offset our current emissions moving forward. Collaborating with our colleagues at TCP and its signatories has lit a passion in us, and we are excited about furthering our own education around corporate sustainability. We are proud to stand with the global community working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a sustainable future for all of the world’s inhabitants. We encourage you to do the same.
